Seoul’s pop-up store scene is a full-blown cultural experience, especially if you’re a K-pop fan. These temporary events are more than just merch shops, they’re immersive little worlds built around your favorite idols, packed with exclusive goods, themed photo zones, interactive exhibits, and fun games.

Whether it’s celebrating a new album release, an anniversary, or just giving fans something extra special, pop-ups have become a huge part of how K-pop connects with its fans and audience. From global names like BTS and BLACKPINK to rising stars like NCT Wish, Allday Project, and TXT, these limited-time events pop up all over Seoul, often in trendy districts like Hongdae, Gangnam, and Myeongdong, drawing long lines of excited fans ready to shop for exclusive merchandise and dive into the vibe.

My experience in ONEW's PERCENT POP-UP

I’m a proud Shawol (SHINee World!), and as soon as I saw the announcement for ONEW’s PERCENT pop-up on Instagram, I knew I had to go. The moment I stepped into the space at Shinsegae Gangnam, I was already vibing. The live DJ playing tracks from the album built a hypnotic atmosphere for the area. I was allured by the dreamy setup and artistic details. There were themed photo zones, exclusive merch displays, and even an interactive board where fans could write down their messages to ONEW! Plus, they set up game booths, where you can collect stamps after finishing each mission, and get a gift if you finish the stamp collection (I got a cute poster of ONEW!!!), making the whole experience even more riveting.

There's a photo booth, where you can take a 4-cut photo "with" ONEW. What a fantastic souvenir!

The merch shop at ONEW’s PERCENT pop-up was absolutely a highlight, but honestly, I didn’t know I needed a reservation until I got there. Luckily, they allowed me to make a same-day booking on-site through the mobile app, PLVE, but the on-site instructions were in Korean, which made things a little tricky. The staff were nice, but they didn’t speak English, so I had to rely on my limited Korean and hand gestures to get through it. Once I got the notice on the app at my assigned time, I showed them my reservation and my passport for verification, and they let me in. The shop itself was beautifully laid out, with pastel colors, and well-designed exclusive merch like T-shirts, plushies, photo cards, cute backpacks, and more.

It’s worth noting that some K-pop pop-up stores in Seoul require online reservations in advance, and a few even ask for official fan club membership to access to specific sections. Most of the platforms are only in Korean, which can make the process tricky if you don’t speak the language. A bilingual concierge service would be a good choice if you want a hassle-free experience! GoWonderfully could help! Their agents can even help with buying exclusive merch if you are not in Korea or too busy to line up!

Annyeong~~ This is Layla! I just graduated from Hong Kong Baptist University with a degree of Arts in Translation. This summer, I'm spending 6 weeks in Seoul as a marketing intern at GoWonderfully. Pop-up is really a trend here in Korea. It seems that every time a new product comes out, brands organize a pop-up event for promotion. Last week I went into 3 pop-up stores within a day in Hongdae. Coming out with a bunch of free gifts and a lot of fun. Fun games, instagrammable zones, free gifts, discounts on new products...I just love exploring random pop-up events! I guess I'll never get bored in Seoul as an experience-hungry city girl.
